"We hand screen print all our cushions in batches using dye pastes. Although we use a small amount of water to wash out each length of fabric after printing, because we work on a small scale there is almost no waste at all. We just mix up the exact amount of dye we need for that day.
We source our Eco hollowfibre cushion pads from a UK company. The filling is made using recycled PET bottles which would have otherwise gone to landfill. It also allows us to offer a vegan alternative without using virgin raw materials.
We use heavy weight linen for the majority of our cushion covers which we source, again, from a UK based company. Initially I chose a linen base because of how it looks ( I love it's weight and texture) but linen is a fantastic cloth to use for environmental reasons too. It uses very little water when grown and very little energy to process into yarn and because it super strong it lasts for ages, becoming softer and softer each time its washed. Our linen cushions are made to last....but in years to come, they can be completely recycled and will eventually biodegrade."
Stoff Studio's cushions are screen printed, made up from their studio looking out onto the river Thames.
